CEO MAGAZINE FEATURES RIPPE HEALTH ASSESSMENT AS TOP VENUE FOR TODAY’S HIGH LEVEL EXECUTIVE HEALTH EXAM: 03/08/07

Orlando -- Most companies today know the importance of keeping their top executives in tip-top shape. In fact, a recent study found that executives who underwent physical exams had 20 percent fewer health claims and lost 45 percent fewer workdays than those who did not. DR. RIPPE JOINS PRESIDENTIAL PANEL ON WOMEN'S HEART DISEASE: 02/28/07

Simi Valley, CA – Dr. James M. Rippe joined First Lady Laura Bush and former First Lady Nancy Reagan at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library to participate in a roundtable discussion on women and heart disease.




The prestigious panel included Dr. Rippe, the only male cardiologist invited, along with two women physicians and their patients, and the two First Ladies. All wore red as part of the national “Red Dress” awareness campaign to improve women’s health. Heart disease is the leading cause of death among both men and women each year in the United States.

Dr. Rippe discussed a five step healthier lifestyle plan that patients can follow to reduce their risk of developing cardiac disease. He cited a national study of over 80,000 female nurses that showed that women can reduce their risk of heart disease by 80 percent if they don’t smoke, maintain a normal body weight, exercise at least 30 minutes daily, eat more whole grains and cereal fiber and drink about half an ounce of alcohol a day. The findings from this study were published in the New England Journal of Medicine.




The guests also joined Laura Bush and Nancy Reagan for a tour of the Presidential Library’s new exhibit called “The First Ladies Red Dress Collection.” The exhibit was made possible by corporate sponsorship from Quaker Oats and PepsiCo who are helping to bring awareness and educate women about the dangers and risks of developing heart

Dr. Rippe serves as chairman of the Florida Hospital Institute for Lifestyle Medicine, the first hospital based initiative to focus on the impact of lifestyle decisions and habits on health.

 

 

DR. JAMES RIPPE JOINS WebMD IN NEW MARQUEE DOCTORS PROJECT: 02/21/07

BP SUCCESS ZONE HEADS TO THE SUPERBOWL XLI: 02/01/07




MIAMI-- Nationally renowned cardiologist Dr. James Rippe and legendary football superstar Joe Montana continue their supercharged multi-year, multimedia campaign against high blood pressure. The two have teamed up to help all Americans understand the importance of keeping high blood pressure under control. Known as the BP Success Zone, the successful effort is now in it’s 5th year and is sponsored by Novartis.

In Miami, the site of this year’s Superbowl XLI, fans and media from all over got a chance to hear the BP Success Zone message with a personal touch from four time Superbowl champ Montana who controls his high blood pressure with a combination of lifestyle measures and medication. In addition to local and national media in town for the game, Dr. Rippe and Montana also conducted interviews with multiple media outlets via satellite transmission.

And in Atlanta, the pair gave standing room only presentations before hundreds of UPS workers and the Georgia Department of Community Health. Dr. Rippe and Joe Montana also sat down with local print, radio and television media to discuss the health benefits of controlling hypertension.
